What "Staging Only" Furniture Actually Means

Our rental fleet never goes into a residence. That's the whole reason the clearance pieces still look new.

What "Staging Only" Furniture Actually Means

When people hear "used furniture" they picture something that spent five years under a family of four, a dog, and a coffee table full of scratches. That's not what we sell. Every piece in our clearance center was bought new or used for one purpose only: staging. It went into an empty house so a realtor could photograph it and show it to buyers. It never went home with anyone.

Staging furniture lives a different life

A staged living room gets looked at, sat in for a showing or two, and photographed. It doesn't get kids jumping on it, pets clawing at it, or years of daily wear. When the listing sells or the staging contract ends, that furniture comes back to us. It's controlled, it's monitored the whole time it's out, and it never crosses into someone's actual home. That's a real distinction, not a sales line, and it's the reason we can put a price tag on a sofa that's a fraction of retail and mean it.

What happens before it goes on the clearance floor

Nothing goes up for sale straight off a truck. We monitor products the whole time they're out on rental or staging duty to keep them close to new. Once a piece comes back, it's inspected before it's ever offered for sale, and it's professionally cleaned and sanitized so it's ready to use the day you take it home. That's three separate checks between a piece leaving a staged house and landing in front of a customer.

What that means for the price tag

Because the condition is real, not just described that way, we can mark clearance pieces down 50 to 70 percent off retail and still stand behind them. Right now that includes an Ashley Big Man's Recliner in pewter, clearance priced at $250, and an Ashley Accent Chair at $140. Those are the kind of prices that only make sense when the furniture underneath them genuinely hasn't been lived on.

The showroom mixes new and used on purpose

We sell new furniture and used staging returns side by side, in the same showroom, because they hold up to the same standard. You're not digging through a bargain bin hoping to get lucky. You're picking between two honestly priced options and choosing based on budget, not on which one you're less worried will fall apart.

See it before you decide

Viewing is by appointment only, which keeps the floor calm and lets us actually walk you through what's available instead of you hunting through a warehouse alone. Call or text (317) 536-7368 during our hours, 9 to 6 Monday through Friday and 10 to 4 on Saturday, and we'll set a time. We've been doing this in Indianapolis since 2003, and the staging-only sourcing is the same reason our regulars keep coming back to the clearance floor first.
